Today on Unwined with Mandi I presented my heartwarming twist of one of my favorite classic cocktails; the Old Fashioned. I shared my secret recipe for making the most magic pumpkin pie syrup.
You can make hot drinks and non-alcoholic cocktails as well!
Here is my creation « Mabon Harvest »
But what does Mabon mean?

Every year in the fall, my little tradition is to whip up a batch of pumpkin pie syrup. To keep things simple, I recommend using canned pumpkin from the supermarket. However, you can always buy a real pumpkin and roast it in the oven if you're in the mood for some DIY! You can also add your favorite spices, of course. I like to include maple syrup and cocoa.
For bourbon, my top three would be of course: Maker's Mark, Buffalo Trace, or if you're feeling fancy, my revelation from last year, Angel's Envy.
To support our Quebec products and add some variety to the cocktail, my good friends at Puyjalon, a distillery located on the Côte-Nord, have released Manitou, a maple liqueur that I had the great pleasure of tasting when Mario, the owner of the distillery, visited Montreal.
